The library was established along with the University College and is a specialized reference center for Hospitality and Tourism. The aim of the library has always been to provide not only the University College campus (which includes faculty, students, and staff), but also other researchers in the fields of Hospitality and Tourism studies with all the necessary materials they require.
The library contains the latest, up-to-date material in Tourism, Events and Hospitality studies. There are more than 9600 items, including books, DVDs, and reference materials in Arabic, English, French, German, and Italian. Additionally, the library subscribes to more than fifty periodicals in Arabic and other languages and to the UNWTO “E-Library”.
All library materials are classified according to the Dewey decimal classification system. The circulation system uses WINISIS software in both Arabic and English. Cataloguing procedures comply with the Library of Congress Subject Headings and the Anglo - American Cataloguing Rules. Additionally, authorized users of the library are able to access the World Tourism Organization's international database.
The Internet is also available through designated computer terminals in the library, and some items may be borrowed by authorized users; reference books and periodicals are not available for borrowing. All students and staff are able to use the library, and individual memberships can be arranged for members of the community who are interested in utilizing the library services.
The library is open between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, excluding religious and official public holidays
